GDELS-SBS tradition in developing and manufacturing munitions and cartridges dates from the Middle Ages. Since then it has maintained its leading position in the sector due to its capacity to constantly renovate and modernize structures and capabilities.

This department encompasses factories specialized in different products and is located in two different places in Spain (Palencia), manufacturing a range of products from small caliber, medium caliber, artillery and anti-tank ammunition, to different types of projection charges, warheads and final assembly and missile testing. The factory at Granada is GDELS-SBS’s oldest plant dating back to 1572.

The industrial center at Palencia boasts over 50 years' experience in manufacturing metallic cartridges and medium caliber munitions, 5.56 mm boring and 40 mm TP, HE, HEDP, among others.
