M3

The M3 is the world's leading amphibious bridge and ferry system with regard to loading capacity, construction time, and cross-country and marine maneuverability. The M3's superior performance and reliability has been tried and tested many times – in trials, exercises, disaster relief operations and in combat.

Bridge Concept

NATO's First Choice

The M3 is the global standard setter for amphibious wet-gap crossing systems. Its performance and cost-efficiency are unmatched.

Excellence in Wet-Gap Crossing

Truly amphibious, the M3 can carry all NATO vehicles in bridge and ferry mode – up to the heaviest battle tanks.

Versatility
Mission-Ready for Any Terrain and Climate

Time and again, the M3 has proven its seemingly unlimited capability for all terrains and even extreme climate conditions, including arctic, tropical, desert and oceanic environments. Deployed as a ferry or bridge, the operational spectrum reaches from disaster relief and civil defense to rear area and combat operations.

Speed
World's Fastest Mobile Bridge System

The M3 is the world's fastest floating bridge and ferry system in terms of operational readiness. With its powerful engine and 4-wheel drive and -steering, the M3 travels up to 80 km/h on roads and features surprising off-road agility. In the water, it is propelled by two 360° rotatable water pump jets. A 100-meter bridge can be deployed in less than 10 minutes.

Interoperability
Fully Interoperable – because Partnership Counts

With four NATO countries and several partners abroad using the M3, all systems are fully interoperable in combined operations. Moreover, through GDELS' coupling adapter, the M3 can be easily and safely combined with the widespread SRB/FSB/IRB pontoon bridge systems – maximizing operational flexibility.

Load Capacity
No Limits

The M3 can form ferries of different sizes for swift and dispersed river crossings. In the bridging mode, length is unlimited. The M3 carries all NATO vehicles including heavy trucks, armored combat vehicles and main battle tanks.
