PIRANHA

The PIRANHA is second to none when it comes to protected military mobility. With more than 12000 vehicles successfully in operation it constitutes the most successful wheeled armored vehicle family of the Western world.

Vehicle Concept

Commonality

All PIRANHA variants share a common chassis and drivetrain concept, along with many similar sub-components, all facilitating training and logistics.

PIRANHA Technology for Heavy Mission Payloads

The mission-proven PIRANHA can be configured for a multitude of roles – as 6x6, 8x8, 10x10, and with optional amphibious capability.

Modularity
Unlimited Configurations

The three basic configurations 6x6, 8x8 and 10x10 can be combined with different engines, suspension systems, turrets and mission equipment. Roles range from APC/IFV and reconnaissance through engineering and C4I to mortar, artillery and air defense. Discover the PIRANHA's unlimited versatility in our gallery.

Mobility
High Performance, Outstanding Reliability

The PIRANHA masters any terrain and all environmental conditions, from arctic cold to extreme heat.

With its extraordinary power-to-weight ratio, unique independent suspension with high vertical wheel travel, central tire inflation and anti-lock brake systems, the PIRANHA stands out through excellent mobility both on- and off-road. Amphibious capability is optional.

Survivability
Mission-tailored Protection

The PIRANHA features a modular, interchangeable protection system, which can be adapted to different threat scenarios.

The vehicle’s armor steel hull, the comprehensive integrated mine protection, and the scalable add-on armor are the main characteristics of this modular protection system, all tested and certified according to STANAG 4569. Optional add-on modules include RPG and bomblet protection, as well as active protection systems.

Payload
A Perfect Payload Potential

Besides the modular concept, the PIRANHA's exceptional payload to weight ratio allows for the flexible integration of different mission payloads.
